My favourite day trip is to visit a museum, and Nova Scotia has a lot of wonderful ones.
Winter is the best time to go, with reduced tourist traffic on the roads and at attractions. Yes, you may encounter school groups, but I\u2019ve been charmed to watch kids experience with wonder the
visible and frequently interactive knowledge museums provide.
Everyone knows about Pier 21, The Canadian Museum of Immigration in Halifax. As a Canadian whose roots go far back in this country, Pier 21, which is always worth a visit, reminds me of the challenges and hopes of immigrants, and of the amazing diversity of our population.
There are lots of other museums to visit, big and small, and in all parts of the province. Many are seasonal, so check hours before you go. Visit novascotia.com and search \u201cmuseums\u201d to get inspired.
